Summary
Gradely does not require an account. Academic records you save are calculated and stored locally on your device. We do not sell personal academic records. AI features and advertising use the limited third-party processing described below.
Information Handled by Gradely
Academic Records & Timetable Data
Your name or profile title, chosen institution, programme, level, semesters, courses, credits, grades, study sessions, and target classifications are stored locally in your iPhone’s sandboxed storage. We do not operate remote account servers that receive your academic profile.
Photos & Camera Access
Gradely requests camera or photo library access only when you choose to use the AI Result Scanner (to read course rows from printed result slips) or when saving generated result summary cards to your Photos library. A result image selected for AI scanning is sent to Google Gemini through Firebase for academic text extraction. The app asks you to review extracted courses before saving them locally.
Support Communications
If you reach out to our team via WhatsApp, your message is handled securely under WhatsApp's communication terms. We use your message only to assist you with support and app improvements.
AI & OCR Privacy
Before Gradely enables AI features, it asks for permission to send information to Google Gemini through Firebase. For Result Scanner, this includes the image you select. Although Gradely instructs the model to extract only course names, codes, credits, and grades, the original image may also visibly contain a name, student number, or other details. Crop or cover information you do not want to send.
For Ask Gradely AI, AI planning, and grade prediction, Gradely may send your question and relevant academic context—such as institution, programme, credits, semester results, course grades, and academic targets—to provide a personalised response. This information is sent only when you deliberately use an AI feature. You may decline or withdraw AI permission and continue using manual GPA/CWA calculations.
Advertising & Third-Party Services
Gradely uses Google Mobile Ads. Subject to your region and consent choices, Google may process device identifiers, advertising data, approximate location derived from IP, diagnostics, performance information, and ad interactions to provide, measure, and protect ads. Gradely requests region-appropriate consent before requesting ads and displays an Ad Privacy Choices control in Settings whenever Google requires one. Gradely does not use academic records to target ads.
Your Choices & Data Control
